How many correct answers are needed to pass the citizenship test?

Nobody knows. UHR has not published a pass mark, and the figures circulating on commercial sites are guesses.
The short answer
There is no published pass mark. If you read a number somewhere, it does not come from UHR.
What UHR actually says
UHR writes that the threshold for a pass is set afterwards, that is, after the test has been held. The August 2026 sitting was a trial test: part of the point of a trial test is to measure how hard the questions really are, and only then can a reasonable threshold be set.
UHR also states that the results of the August test are published in October, and that information about the exact date will follow.
Why other sites still state a number
Because a number is easier to sell than “nobody knows”. A figure such as “75 per cent correct” or “at least 45 out of 60” looks like a fact, is easy to remember and makes a product concrete. But none of those figures can be traced to a published decision, and whoever prints them cannot show where they come from.
That is also why we do not. We would rather not invent a number than give you a false measure to judge yourself against.
What you can measure instead
While the threshold is missing, the only meaningful measure is coverage: do you know the thirteen areas the test is based on, or are there areas where you know nothing at all? That is measurable, and it is what the diagnostic shows — area by area, not as a grade.
The sensible strategy therefore becomes: aim at knowing all thirteen areas. Then it does not matter where the threshold finally lands.
What happens when the threshold is published
The day UHR publishes a threshold we update the pass mark status page and publish a dated news entry. We do not quietly edit old texts.
We give no prediction of whether you will pass, either before or after a threshold is published.
